Engineering Design & Tender Documentation Copilot

From engineering inputs to tender documents.

The challenge

Engineers rebuilt bills of materials by hand and wrote tender documents from scratch, even though most of the content already existed in past tenders.

What we built

A GenAI-backed platform for an industrial engineering organization that automates bill-of-materials generation from structured engineering inputs and assists in preparing technical tender documents from historical reference samples. It pairs rules-based engineering logic with AI-assisted document generation to cut manual effort and accelerate design-to-tender workflows.

The AI layer

  • AI-assisted document generation drafts tender content from historical references.
  • Rules-based engineering logic keeps technical outputs consistent.
How it works

The workflow, step by step.

  1. 01Engineering inputs entered
  2. 02Rules generate the BOM
  3. 03Reference tenders retrieved
  4. 04Tender sections drafted
  5. 05Engineer approves

Modules

Everything in one system.

01Engineering inputs

Structured inputs for each design.

02Rules-based BOM

Bills of materials generated by engineering rules.

03Reference library

Historical tenders as reusable references.

04Tender drafting

AI-assisted drafting of technical documents.

05Engineer review

Engineers approve every output.

What your team would see.

Illustrative interface · sample data
Who uses it

Built around real roles.

Design engineer

Enters inputs and reviews the BOM.

Tender manager

Assembles and approves the submission.

In practice · illustrative example
An engineer enters the parameters for a new package. The rules produce the bill of materials, similar past tenders are pulled in, and the technical sections are drafted for the engineer to review.
Build your version

Start here, extend further.

Capabilities we can build on this foundation for your version of the system.

  • CAD and drawing data import
  • Supplier quotation comparison
  • Cost estimation from historical pricing
  • Compliance checks against tender requirements
  • Revision tracking across tender versions
Questions

What clients ask us.

Will it follow our engineering standards?

Yes. BOM generation uses rules-based engineering logic, so outputs follow defined standards rather than guesswork.

Where does the tender text come from?

From your historical reference tenders, drafted with AI and reviewed by engineers.

Can you build a version of this for our business?

Yes. Every system starts with a discovery conversation about your workflow, data and goals, and we adapt the design to fit. Most engagements produce a working, testable system within a few weeks to a couple of months, depending on scope.

Can it integrate with the systems we already use?

Integration with existing tools such as ERPs, accounting packages, databases and document stores is scoped during discovery, so the system fits around how you already work.
